Cabinets of Curiosity: A Six-Week Art Course on Wonder, Beauty & the Collected Life (Cover Image : Dominico Remps) This summer, we’ll gather around old books, botanical specimens, maps, poetry, candlelight still life works, found objects, your own special mementos and meaningful conversation as we create our own modern “cabinets of curiosity.” and or related paintings. Inspired by Renaissance wonder rooms and natural history collections, this course is designed for adults who long to slow down, notice deeply, and make art in thoughtful community. Perfect for:• creative women• professionals needing restorative creativity• beginners and experienced artists alike• lovers of books, nature, antiques, history, beauty and who collect meaningful objects with a story. Over six weeks we’ll explore: watercolor, acrylic and mixed media— natural history illustration— symbolic still life painting— assemblage & shadow boxes— sketchbook practice— artful collecting and observation Wonder, curiosity, and meaningful art-making among new and old friends. 2-hour weekly gatherings. Cancellation Policy
Payment in full must be made to secure a place in class. Registrations are accepted in the order they are received. A waitlist will be created in order of requests received after the course has been sold out. We ask that drop off/arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to class and leave/pick up no later than 15 minutes post class. We request that drivers or other guests of the student do not stay on site during the time of the class. If there is a cancellation of the class time and it is not rescheduled or changed by Culture Citizen Art League (DBA: Millie Watters Art) , the class time will be refunded. Culture Citizen Art League (DBA: Millie Watters Art) reserves the right to cancel/ reschedule courses for future dates due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen reasons or circumstances. If a student cannot attend a rescheduled course date, their registration will be forwarded to a future Culture Citizen course. Full refunds will be determined on a case by case basis. There are no refunds for no shows but a make up class date is available.
